NAMI Benefit Honoring Superintendent Cline - Thursday, Feb 24th
Dear Fellow C.P.D. / C.I.T. members-
Please check your social calendars- I just received word from Sgt. Bill Lange that on next Thursday evening, February 24th- our Superintendent Phil Cline is scheduled to be honored by N.A.M.I. of Greater Chicagoland as their Man of the Year (for his commitment to helping make possible our fine Crisis Intervention Team training sessions last year.) It's taking place at the Renaissance Hotel Chicago- One West Wacker Drive (at State Street.)
As this is a fund-raising benefit/dinner celebrating the 26th Anniversary of NAMI's Greater Chicagoland chapter- the normal price of tickets for the event is $135 dollars per person for the general public- but as C.I.T. trained C.P.D. Officers we are being offered the generous discounted rate of only $75 dollars to attend (I know, I know- we as coppers probably feel we should be getting "comped" AND be right behind the Super in the award line... ;-> ...just joking!)
But seriously- the money goes to a great cause and I'm sure the food and ambience and networking potential are far and away worth the price of admission! There is going to be a live, silent auction as well to benefit NAMI- sounds very interesting!
NAMI-gc's Suzanne Andriukaitis (the generous volunteer from our training sessions) was nice enough to confirm the details (below.) Her e-mail noted that it should be okay to pay at the door but that we should call their office at (312) 563-0445 to let them know of your intention to attend and to identify yourself as a CIT officer (she also noted that we contact them ASAP as the event is quite close to taking place.) I am not sure of the attire required but would assume that pretty spiffy would be the safest bet.
I hope you can find time in your busy schedules to attend this worthwhile event- and I hope the New Year finds you in good health and spirits! (I'm just getting over a terrible flu!)
Sincerely-
Officer Timothy O'Grady - 023
